[02] The Benevolent Society MM Project

[Brisbane, 4-11-2011] In Brisbane I visited The Benevolent Society (website: www.bensoc.org.au) doing the in-company training for the workers in the regions of Brisbane and Cairns. And I’m trilled to see how people grew so remarkably using their gained Marte Meo skills and how they’re even teaming up as workers in a more happy way and at the same time making their daily labour somewhat more easy going and joyful. »I use Marte Meo at home with my teenage boy as well and get along in a better way; we love it,« one worker told me enthusiastically.

Benevolent Society’s State Manager Queensland, Michael Tizard, writes in the teaser on this website:
»I have seen my staff in Queensland responds to the huge insights and learning in developing their therapeutic approaches to working with children from disadvantaged families. Through my own experience as a Foster Carer I have been able to use the Marte Meo approach to assist children in my care, recognise a potential that may well have been lost to them and thereby open up opportunities for a very different and much more positive life trajectory where learning, friendships and achievement are based on positive interactions and experiences, rather than the negative path that they were facing.«
